Like the original, the ship's forward section featured a passage down the middle which held numerous bays on either side, allowing for the storage of starfighters and transports such as shuttles and landing craft. Like the original Venator, the ship was also capable of atmospheric operations, allowing it to land on planets in order to support ISB ground operations, particularly the Special Operations branch.ĭue to the ship's larger size when compared to the original Venator, the hangar space was also larger and could hold up to 504 TIE line starfighters, 42 AT Security walkers, 28 Sentinel-class landing craft and 8 Lambda-class T-4a shuttles. The ship was 1,583 meters in length, which was 446 meters longer than its original and had more width to accommodate this longer length. The starship was only used by the Imperial Security Bureau’s Fleet Service branch, as Imperial Navy High Command deemed the ship to be an outdated design, despite the improvements made to the design when compared to the original Venator Star Destroyer.
The Venator-class Heavy Star Destroyer was a wedge-shaped capital ship designed by the Imperial Department of Military Research and was constructed at the Onyx Research Installation’s shipyard with workers provided by Corellian company Vytal Industries.
